Her husband, U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, was headed home to Arizona Wednesday to be with her.

TUCSON, AZ — Former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was hospitalized Wednesday for appendicitis, according to a report from the Arizona Republic.

Her husband, U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, was headed home Wednesday to be with her, the Republic reported.

Giffords was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, Fox 10 reported.
