Teen Arrested After Mountain View Lockdown Did Not Have A Weapon

The teenager suspected to have caused the lockdown Tuesday afternoon was not a student and was not found in possession of a weapon.

PIMA COUNTY, AZ — The teen who caused a lockdown at Mountain View High School Tuesday did not have a weapon and was not a student at the school, according to the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The school was locked down at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after a report of a student carrying a weapon on campus.

Police found the 16-year-old in a desert area south of the school, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of felony disruption of an educational institution and trespassing, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Mountain View is in the Marana Unified School District.
