Officials: Inmate Dies In Tucson State Prison
An inmate in a Tucson state prison has died of an apparent suicide, the Arizona Department of Corrections said.
TUCSON, AZ — An inmate at a Tucson state prison has died in an apparent suicide, officials said in a news release Monday.
The Arizona Department of Corrections has since identified the man as 25-year-old Eric Haag. Haag was found hanging in the shower area late Sunday and was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after. The inmate was housed at the Arizona State Prison Complex on Wilmot Road in Tucson, one of the department of corrections' 13 facilities.
"Haag returned to the department of corrections care in 2016 after he was sentenced in Yavapai County for aggravated assault, theft means of transportation, unlawful use of transportation and trafficking in stolen property," the news release said.

While officials said it looked like a suicide, all deaths are investigated with assistance from the Pima County medical examiner. The investigation is ongoing.
