Pima County Deputy Dies From Gunshot Wound
The deputy was shot Thursday near the intersection of Palo Verde Road and Julian Drive.
PIMA COUNTY, AZ — The Pima County Sheriff's Deputy who suffered a gunshot wound Thursday afternoon has died, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The shooting happened near the intersection of Palo Verde Road and Julian Drive, according to the department.
"At the request of the deputy’s family, we are not releasing any further details at this time," Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a Saturday news release.

He added that there were no threats to the community related to the shooting.
"Please understand, this is a difficult time for our Department and the deputy’s family," Nanos said in the statement. "Thank you for your support."
