Pinery Fire Update: Pre-Evacuations Ordered As 1,200 Acres Burned

CHIRICAHUA NATIONAL MONUMENT, AZ – It started on Saturday afternoon – a human-caused fire on private land. The Pinery Fire has now spread, consuming more than 1,200 acres and forcing pre-evacuation orders to be issued for the White Trail Canyon.
Those orders mean that residents have to be ready to go on a moment's notice. No has been injured in the fire.
The fire started on private land, and has moved to the north and east onto Chiricahua National Monument and the Coronado National Forest.

The national monument is closed as fire crews work to bring it under control.
