TUCSON, AZ — Though you might not consider yourself a “senior” at age 50, apparently the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department does. But that might not be a bad thing: Those 50 and older can now register for the Department’s 36th annual Senior Olympic Festival, held Jan. 6-Feb. 1, 2020.

The Senior Olympic Festival will be held at 25 venues in Tucson, and aims to promote and celebrate health, fitness and active lifestyles in those 50 years old and older. Festival events include badminton, racquetball, bowling, volleyball, archery, golf, pickleball, horseshoes, bridge, tennis, a basketball shoot and more.

Udall Park Ampitheater at 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road in Tucson is the venue for the opening ceremonies Jan. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.
