Remains Recovered On Arizona Trail Near Tucson
The Pima County Sheriff's Department indicated that the remains matched the description of a hiker seen in the area Sunday.

TUCSON, AZ — Remains of an adult male were recovered on the Arizona Trail just east of Tucson Monday morning, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said. The discovery occurred during a pre-planned training helicopter flight in the area.
Search and rescue deputies recovered the remains near Redington Road along the Arizona Trail. The department said the remains have not yet been identified but appear to match the description of a hiker that was seen in the area on Sunday. Another hiker had called deputies on Sunday to inform them that he had provided an unidentified man with water on the trail.
"Deputies responded to this area to look for the hiker, along with a Federal Park Ranger, but they were unable to locate him," the sheriff's department said in a statement. "The hiker had not requested assistance, nor indicated that he was in distress, and he had been provided water by the caller."
