Salvation Army Needs Donations For Operation Chill Out
The Salvation Army of Tucson's annual "Operation Chill-Out," which helps the homeless when temperatures rise, needs help.

TUCSON, AZ – The temperature has settled around the triple digits and even though summer's not officially hear for almost another month – summer is here. That mean's the Salvation Army of Tucson needs your help helping others.
Operation Chill Out, the organization's annual drive to provide what they call "survival donations" for the city's homeless, doesn't get its official start until June 1.
But the Salvation Army, pointing out the high temps, is asking for help.

"Our Hospitality House staff and volunteers are putting their compassion into action; going to local parks to hand out water, hats, lip balm, sunscreen, umbrellas and light colored t-shirts to help ease the discomfort and keep folks hydrated," they said in a statement.
For the next three months, the Salvation Army says that they "need donations from the community to keep our life-saving outreach alive."

They are specifically looking for:
- Water
- Hats
- Lip balm
- Sunscreen
- Umbrellas
- Light colored t-shirts
Donations can be brought to the Hospitality House at 1002 North Main Street.
People can also make donations over the phone by calling 520-795-9671.
