Skateboarder Struck By Car Dies In Tucson: Police
Police said the 15-year-old died after being struck by a Chevrolet truck in an intersection.
TUCSON, AZ — A 15-year-old skateboarder died early Wednesday after being struck by a truck near the intersection of N. Swan Road and E. 5th Street in Tucson.
Police said Operations Division Midtown officers and Tucson Fire Department firefighters were sent to the intersection around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday after someone reported a serious injury.
When first responders arrived, they found a 15-year-old pedestrian on a skateboard had been struck and injured by a 2015 Chevrolet 2500 truck. The pedestrian was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where she died from her injuries.

Police determined the driver of the truck was not drunk or otherwise impaired at the time of the collision and was not driving too fast. Police said the driver and a witness both reported the traffic signal was green for north and southbound Swan Road.
The driver has not been charged nor cited as of publication. Anyone with information that could help an ongoing investigation is asked to call 88-CRIME.
