Teen Arrested In Connection With Mother's Arrest In Tucson

A 14-year-old boy was arrested by the Pima County Sheriff's Department Sunday and has been charged with second-degree murder.

TUCSON, AZ — A 14-year-old boy was arrested Sunday and charged with second-degree murder in his mother's death.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to calls of a disturbance at a home on Didion Drive on Sunday around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive woman with "obvious signs of trauma," according to a news release.

Deputies and members of the Northwest Fire Department attempted to save her life but were unsuccessful. Tiana Keen, 45, died at the scene.

An investigation led to the arrest of Keen's 14-year-old son. He has not been identified.

Keen and her son were in Tucson from out of state, the sheriff's department said. The teen is currently in custody.
