1 Dead In Tucson Strip Club Shooting

TUCSON, AZ — A shooting at a Tucson strip club left one man dead and another man is on the run.

The shooting took place Sunday at Ten's Showclub in midtown Tucson, where officers were dispatched around 1 a.m., according to a news release from the Tucson Police Department.

"Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside the establishment with obvious signs of gunshot trauma," Officer Frank Magos, Tucson police spokesperson, said in a statement.

Officers began performing CPR until members of the Tucson Fire Department arrived at the scene. The victim, since identified as 37-year-old Daniel Antonio Ortiz, was taken to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He died shortly after getting to the hospital.

Ortiz was the only person hit by a bullet, and no other injuries have been reported.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect arriving at the club in a white four-door sedan with black wheels and a non-functioning driver side tail lamp, according to police. He was seen wearing a gray beanie, a surgical mask, green striped polo shirt, sunglasses, gray sweat pants and blue latex gloves just before the shooting.

The man immediately fired several shots upon entering Ten's Showclub.

An investigation is underway and Magos said detectives are currently following up on leads. The reason for the shooting remains unclear.

Tucson police are urging anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME. Tips can be anonymous.
