Tucson Police Need Help Catching Suspect In Sunday Murder

Police say that 21-year-old Joshua Hilarie is a suspect in the murder of his girlfriend 18-year-old Rosaura Hernandez on Sunday.

TUCSON, AZ – Take a look at the woman in the picture Her name is Rosaura Hernandez. She was murdered in her home on Sunday.

She was 18-years-old.

Police say Hernandez's family had called police in the evening worried about her. She had called earlier from her apartment at 1254 South Craycroft Avenue and said she was fighting with her live-in boyfriend, 21-year-old Joshua Hilarie.

Family called after going to her apartment, not getting a response at the door, and not getting a response when they called her. Police arrived and also knocked on the door. They got no response and, saying that it was possible that Hernandez had left the apartment, left the scene. (Get Tucson Patch's daily newsletter and real-time news alerts. Around two hours later they were called back to the apartment.

Family members had forced their way into the apartment where they found Rosaura unresponsive. Police say that she showed obvious signs of blunt trauma.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on evidence at the scene and interviews, police obtained an arrest warrant for Hilarie, charging him with first degree murder.

Police say that anyone with information on the current whereabouts of Joshua Hilaire is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
