Tucson School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Tucson is August 3. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Tucson Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

Every Wednesday is an early release day. Students will be released 1 hour early.

• 7/25 - 7/28: New Teacher & Principal Induction
• 7/31: First Day for Teachers

August

• 8/3: First Day for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/13 - 9/15: Grades K-8 Half Day (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 9/15: Grades 9-12 Half Day (Parent/Teacher Conferences)

October

• 10/6: No School for Students (Grading Day)
• 10/9 - 10/13: No School (Fall Break)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/22: No School for Students (Grading Day)
• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February

• 2/15 - 2/16: Grades K-8 Half Day (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 2/16: Grades 9-12 Half Day (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 2/22 - 2/23: No School (Rodeo Vacation)

March

• 3/16: No School for Students (Grading Day)
• 3/19 - 3/23: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Spring Holiday)

May

• 5/24: Last Day for Students, Graduation Day
