Tucson Weekend Forecast: Weather Service Warns Of Record Highs
The Weather Service is also reminding people that it is against the law to leave a child alone in a car – even for a minute.

TUCSON, AZ – They're calling it "The Big Warm Up." The National Weather Service says that starting Saturday, the temperature is on the rise.
Saturday is expected to bring Tucson it's first 100-degree day of the year.
That's one day later than last year but a good three weeks earlier than the average first 100 degree day, which is May 25th.

If it does happen Saturday, it will be the eighth earliest on record. The earliest was April 19th – that was in 1989 – and the latest was June 22, which was in 1905.

Heat illnesses are the number one weather-related killer in Arizona and the weather service is reminding people to take precautions.
One major issue is people leaving children in cars.
It is illegal to leave a child alone – even for a minute.
The temperature in a car can rise in a car from 78 degrees to more than 125 in as little as six minutes. A dark dashboard or seat can reach 180 degrees or more.
