23-year-old Jocelyn Lopez-Sanchez was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison after bringing fentanyl to a party, resulting in one death.
TUCSON, AZ — A Tucson woman was sentenced Monday to 12 years in prison for handing out fentanyl at a 2018 party, which resulted in one death and three overdoses, federal prosecutors said.
Now 23, Jocelyn Lopez-Sanchez will find herself in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release when her sentence has been served.
Lopez-Sanchez pleaded guilty to distribution and importation of fentanyl in March, according to local news outlet KGUN. She was accused of passing out several blue “M-30” pills to people at a party in Tucson that took place in November 2018. The U.S. Attorney's Office said she had brought the pills over the U.S. border from Mexico the day before. The pills took one life and caused three people to overdose.
