WATCH: Funeral For Slain DEA Agent Michael G. Garbo
The Tucson community said a final farewell to slain DEA Agent Michael G. Garbo whose funeral service took place Friday at Calvary Chapel.

TUCSON, AZ — The public funeral for Drug Enforcement Administration Supervisory Special Agent Michael G. Garbo took place Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 at Calvary Chapel in Tucson.
Garbo was shot and killed on an Amtrak train that was stopped in downtown Tucson on Monday morning on its way from Los Angeles to New Orleans. He died that same day as a result of injuries sustained during the shooting.
Friday’s service honored his courage and sacrifice as well as celebrated his life as a loving husband, father, brother, and exemplary federal narcotics agent.

A law enforcement procession departed Bring’s Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd. at 8:30 a.m., and proceeded eastbound to S. Harrison Rd., then northbound to Speedway Blvd., then westbound, ending at Calvary Chapel, where Special Agent Garbo’s funeral will begin at 10 a.m.

- 8:30 a.m. - Law Enforcement Procession from Bring’s Broadway Chapel to Calvary Chapel
- 9:30 a.m. – Calvary Chapel Doors Open to the Public
- 9:50 a.m. – Final Seating
- 10:00 a.m. – Funeral Service
- Approximately 11:30 a.m. – Outdoor Ceremonial Honors
Garbo joined DEA in 2005 and served for more than 16 years as a special agent and group supervisor combatting criminal drug traffickers from the Nogales corridor to Kabul, Afghanistan.

Above all else, he was a devoted and loving father and husband," according to a news release from the Phoenix division of the DEA.
