What's Open/Closed In Tucson On Columbus Day 2019

With Columbus Day approaching on Monday, Tucson residents might be wondering what's open or closed that day. Here's what we found out.

TUCSON – The Washington Post reported Thursday that Washington, D.C. Council member David Grosso this week initiated “emergency legislation” to rename Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The bill is still pending, needing two more legislative signatures. Likewise, ABC News reported that more than 100 cities have already renamed the holiday as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

But in Arizona, the holiday we still call Columbus Day hits this Monday, Oct. 14, and with it, questions about what we can do and where we can go for entertainment, banking, pet adoptions and more in Tucson that day. Though most of the museums and places of business we contacted will be open on Columbus Day, a few won’t. Here’s what we found out about what’s opened and closed that day.
