TUCSON, AZ — Reid Park Zoo will be bringing the holiday cheer this winter with its annual light display.

The annual ZooLights holiday display will begin Friday and run nightly until Dec. 23. It will take a short break for the Christmas holiday and open once more from Dec. 26-30.

Tickets must be purchased in advance to allow for limited capacity and social distancing. Tickets will be available for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. entry times. Pricing is $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 children. Children ages one and younger can enter for free while zoo members can receive $3 off on any evening.

In addition to wandering around the festive light displays, guests can drink hot cocoa and have a socially distant meeting with Santa Claus, though not for long.

"Please note that Santa will be flying home to the North Pole after Christmas and will not be attending Encore Nights," the zoo wrote on its website.

ZooLights will also host special pop-up events, including two performances by Ballet Tucson on Dec. 5. More will be announced at a later date.

Reid Park will also be doing some good this holiday season: Anyone wishing to donate toys, canned foods, or pet supplies can drop off items anytime during the event or the zoo's regular daytime hours.

If guests have any questions, the zoo will answer at info@reidparkzoo.org.
