Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:
- Yuma's Border Patrol Agent Luis H. Dominguez was honored during the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on May 13. The ceremony occurred at the National Mall in Washington during the 34th Annual Candlelight Vigil. Dominguez was one of the 619 law enforcement members that died in the line of duty in 2021. (CBP)
- Yuma County Recorder Robyn Stallworth Pouquette reported she is working with the Yuma County Sherriff's Office while investigating alleged voter fraud. The partnership is inspecting multiple allegations of ballot harvesting during the 2020 General Election. Currently, nobody has been charged or convicted through the investigation. (KYMA)
- Yuma residents may experience a fuel price increase during Memorial Day weekend. The current gas price average is $5.21 in Arizona. Representative Ruben Gallego has sent a letter to the IRS demanding a bigger tax break for business' mileage while on the job. (AZ Family)
