• YFD now accepting registrations for Camp Inferno 2026 (kyma.com) — Yuma women and girls ages 14–19 can now sign up for the Yuma Fire Department’s Camp Inferno, running February 5–7, 2026 at the Public Safety Training Facility on Avenue 4E. The $35 program offers supervised live fire exercises, rappelling, and ladder climbing, with limited spots and registration packets available online or at Yuma City Hall’s Parks and Recreation office.
   

• Gila Ridge's Joshua Zanovitch and Seth Ross sign to play in college (kyma.com) — Two Gila Ridge High School standouts from Yuma are taking their talents to the next level, with Joshua Zanovitch committing to track and field at Corban University in Oregon and Seth Ross heading to play baseball at Ottawa University in Surprise. Both athletes shared how excited they are to chase long-held college sports dreams while representing their Yuma roots.

Construction Shed 1,800 Jobs in September (azbex.com) — Yuma’s combined mining and construction employment held steady at 4,100 jobs in September, even as Arizona’s overall construction sector shed 1,800 positions and unemployment ticked up. The report highlights mixed results across metro areas, with Phoenix and Tucson losing construction jobs while several smaller regions posted modest gains.
