🌱 Torch Run For The Special Olympics + Softball Tournament Honored

Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:

  1. Yuma's law enforcement agencies will be participating in this year's Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics. Each agency will carry and pass the ceremonial torch beginning in San Luis and ending at the Quartermaster Depot on N. 4th Avenue.   2. Yuma's Dennis Donnelly Memorial 16 Inch Softball Tournament has been inducted into the Chicago 16 Inch Softball Hall of Fame. The honor was in recognition of the tournament's 50th anniversary. The hall of fame is located in Forest Park, Illinois. The ceremony will occur on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Sanguinetti Field. (City of Yuma)
  3. Despite the extension of Title 42, people are continuing to attempt to get to the United States through Yuma. Title 42 was extended by a federal judge. Yuma has "become Grand Central Station" for immigrants crossing the border. Yuma's Mayor Nicholls reports that Homeland Security is providing additional help to monitor the border. (ABC15)
