A-State's Midnight Breakfast Turns Dining into a Gaming Adventure
Acansa Dining Hall transforms into a gaming paradise in the 'Board-Game Blowout' late night breakfast
Arkansas State (A-State) University's Acansa Dining Hall recently played host to a unique student event, transforming into a gaming paradise during the 'Board-Game Blowout' late-night breakfast, with the first 100 attendees receiving coveted event shirts.
Upon entering the dining hall, students were greeted by a whimsical display of giant board game pieces, including classics like Chutes and Ladders, Game of Life, Monopoly, Operation, Chess, Trouble, and Candy Land. Each table displayed a variety of board games, offering students a chance to enjoy friendly competitions while enjoying a spread of breakfast favorites, including biscuits, gravy, bacon, and French toast.
What made this event truly special was the involvement of faculty members, including teachers, housing staff, and the dean of auxiliary services, who joined in serving the students, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Dr. Calvin White, Dr. Len Frey, Dr. Russ Hannah, Dr. Martha Spack, and Dr. Craig Johnson served the students along with faculty, teachers, and members of the housing staff.
Students grooved to the beats of a DJ, navigated an inflatable obstacle course, and engaged in oversized games on the lawn.

The night was full of surprises and prizes, with attendees walking away with rewards such as games, a record player, and a JBL Speaker.
The event resulted in an impressive turnout, with nearly 600 students flooding in, with over 500 arriving in the first 15 minutes alone, highlighting the enthusiastic response from the campus community.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Michael Wonderly, General Manager of Sodexo Dining Services said, "We are thrilled to have provided such an engaging and enjoyable experience for our students. The 'Board-Game Blowout' Midnight Breakfast was testament to the spirit of our campus community, and we look forward to hosting more such events in the future."
