Give blood with Arkansas Blood Institute for chance to win $1,000 in Visa gift cards!                                                                                                       FORT SMITH, ARK., March 13, 2022  FORT SMITH, ARK., March 13, 2022  - Arkansas Blood Institute is offering blood donors a chance to make their own luck when they donate blood. Those who take one hour out of their day to give blood will be entered for a chance to win $1,000 during a special four-day event. All successful donors who donate between Monday, March 14 and Thursday, March 17, at any mobile blood drive or donor center location, will be entered to win a daily prize of $1,000 in Visa gift cards.*  Donors also receive their choice of free t-shirt** and choice of one free admission to the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum or the Oklahoma City Zoo. Spring Break and the weeks following present significant challenges to the blood supply for local hospitals. People tend to get out of their normal routines of giving blood when school is out; however, accidents happen and those battling cancer or other life-threatening conditions still need life-sustaining blood. “Our blood supply is an essential part of our health care system,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of Arkansas Blood Institute. “Our blood donors help save lives with their generous donations, so this fun St. Patrick’s Day promotion is an opportunity for us to give back with a chance for them to win big.” Arkansas Blood Institute is the local, non-profit blood supplier, supporting the inventory for patients in more than 40 hospitals, medical facilities and air ambulances statewide. Anyone who is healthy and 16 years old*** or older can give blood.   Appointments can be made by calling 877-340-8777 or visiting  arkbi.org. arkbi.org. Blood donation typically takes only about an hour, and one donation saves up to three lives.
