This CA Metro Area Has America's Hottest Job Market: Report

It had the highest job growth at 4.3 percent, according to Southern California News Group business columnist Jonathan Lansner​.

STOCKTON, CA — The metro area with the highest employment percentage increase nationwide over the past year is in California, according to Southern California News Group business columnist Jonathan Lansner.

Lansner evaluated Burea of Labor Statistics hiring data for the country’s 100 biggest job markets for the 12 months ending in September, which revealed Stockton had the highest job growth at 4.3 percent.

The Stockton area added 11,800 jobs, coming in 36th by count but first by percentage, according to Lansner, who noted that by count, New York had the most growth, adding 149,600 workers — or 1.5 percent — in the last year.

In California, Fresno, Sacramento and the Inland Empire grew their workforces by 2.2 percent, 2 percent and 1.98 percent, respectively, Lansner reported, while Los Angeles and Orange Counties increased by 1.3 percent and San Francisco was up 0.6 percent.
