Fast-Moving Blaze In Shasta County Prompts Evacuations
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said the blaze was about 15 to 20 acres in the area of Ranchera Road and Shasta Street.

SHASTA COUNTY, CA -- A fast-moving vegetation fire erupted Tuesday afternoon in Shasta County, prompting evacuations in the area. The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said the blaze was about 15 to 20 acres in the area of Ranchera Road and Shasta Street.
Evacuations were ordered for the Ranchera Subdivision, Toyon Avenue, and Sacramento Street.

The blaze comes after the region just recovered from the deadly Carr Fire. That fire erupted July 23 before scorching 229,000 acres and destroying more than 1,500 structures. Three firefighters were also killed in the blaze.
