101 Lanes, Ramps Closed March 23-24 For Wildlife Crossing Construction

Ramps and lanes on the 101 Freeway will be closed Thursday and Friday night for the construction of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Several lanes and ramps on the 101 Freeway will be closed Thursday and Friday night as crews work to construct the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing.

Here's the schedule of the closures, according to the city of Agoura Hills:

Thursday night to Friday morning:

Northbound 101 Freeway

  • 7 p.m. — Liberty Canyon onramp closed, opens by 6 a.m. Friday
  • 7 p.m. — One northbound lane closed
  • 8 p.m. — Two northbound lanes closed
  • 11:59 p.m. — Three northbound lanes closed, leaving one lane open for traffic

All northbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., except for the Liberty Canyon Road entrance lane.

Southbound 101 Freeway

  • 7 p.m. — Liberty Canyon offramp closed, opens by 6 a.m. Friday
  • 8 p.m. — One southbound lane closed
  • 10 p.m. — Two southbound lanes closed
  • 11 p.m. — Three southbound lanes closed, leaving one lane open for traffic

All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m., except for the Liberty Canyon Road exit lane.

Friday night to Saturday morning:

Schedule remains the same, aside from the following changes:

  • Ramps will reopen by 8 a.m. Saturday
  • One lane in each direction may remain closed until 8 a.m. Saturday
  • Two northbound lanes may remain closed until 6 a.m. Saturday
  • Two southbound lanes may remain closed until 7 a.m. Saturday

Construction on the crossing started in 2022 and is expected to be complete in 2025, costing over $100 million.
