THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Amy's Kitchen, known for its line of healthy frozen foods, is opening its latest Amy's Drive Thru restaurant in Thousand Oaks on Thursday.
Offering a menu full of organic and vegetarian items, the new Amy's Drive Thru location is the chain's fifth outpost — and the first one in Southern California. Each item is made to order and includes burgers, fries, milkshakes and salads, the company said in a release.

The 4,060 square-foot restaurant was built using sustainably sourced materials, solar shading and electric vehicle charging stations, according to the company.
The restaurant says it worked with the city of Thousand Oaks to create a first-of-its-kind water reuse program, where water used in the restaurant is reused in the patio garden, which is planted with local species.

The restaurant is offering several days of promotions to celebrate its grand opening:
- Thursday, June 15: first 100 guests receive a free shirt
- Friday, June 16: first 50 guests receive a free shirt and burger coupon for a future visit
- Saturday, June 17: first 100 guests receive a free burger
- Sunday, June 18: all guests receive free fries with purchase of any entree
The restaurant is located at 400 N. Moorpark Road. Dine in, carryout and drive-through service is offered daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can order online or through the Amy's Drive Thru app.
