Hand Grenade Found During Agoura Hills Traffic Stop
Authorities on Saturday spotted an inert hand grenade in Agoura Hills during a traffic stop.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Authorities on Saturday found a hand grenade during a traffic stop in Agoura Hills that was later determined not to have any explosives, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Station.
One person was arrested in connection with the incident, authorities said. The device was observed during a traffic stop around 2 p.m. on Liberty Canyon Road south of Agoura Road, Sgt. C. Soberlund of the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station told City News Service.
The device was spotted when a deputy was searching the vehicle, Soberlund said.

The sheriff's bomb squad examined the device and determined it was an inert grenade, which looked like a hand grenade but did not contain explosives, he said.
Liberty Canyon Road was completely closed south of Agoura Road due to a "suspicious package found in a vehicle," according to the Lost Hills Station. The road was reopened after a couple hours.
