Know Your Zone: Meet Agoura Hills, LA County's Evacuation Tool
Meet Agoura Hills's digital tool for more effective wildfire evacuations and emergency management.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — Agoura Hills joined a number of local cities and Los Angeles County agencies in a campaign to prepare residents for emergency evacuations.
The "Know Your Zone" campaign introduces residents to Zonehaven AWARE, a digital tool to show residents their evacuation routes and offer updates on evacuation situations.
Zonehaven AWARE hosts an interactive map, where locals can input their address to find their evacuation zones and access real-time updates and shelter options. The app will help to streamline first-responders' and residents responses to emergencies, according to the city of Calabasas.

"Using the Zonehaven AWARE platform, first responders and residents will refer to the same set of Zone maps used for planning and conducting evacuations," the city of Calabasas said in a news release. "Beginning with the Santa Monica Mountain region, residents can now see their 'Zone' and have access to information about emergency services in their zone, see real-time zone status updates, shelter options, and more."
Residents were also encouraged to check the evacuation zone for other areas they frequent like school, work or loved ones' homes. In an emergency situation, alert notifications from the city and county will refer to these emergency zones.
