Old Boney Mountain Hot Summer Night Festival

Old Boney Mountain Hot Summer Night Festival is back in person after a two-year hiatus. It will take place July 14 at Los Robles Golf Course

Old Boney Mountain Hot Summer Night Festival is back in person after a two-year hiatus. It will take place on Thursday, July 14 at The Gardens at Los Robles Golf Course (299 S. Moorpark Rd. in Thousand Oaks). The outdoor patio event features unlimited craft beer, wine, spirits, hot sauce and food tastings. This year's festival theme is "Bringing People Together."

Festival-goers can sample sauces while enjoying live music and local cuisine. Singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist Wais is performing live.

Over 450 small-batch hot sauces from around the world have submitted entries. Their hot sauces will be taste-tested during a juried competition prior to the festival. Sauce divisions are Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, Fruit Based, BBQ, Spicy Mustard and Spicy Snacks. Winners in each category will be announced at the festival at 8:00 p.m.

“These hot sauces aren’t mass-produced,” says Chanda Lubinski, Hot Summer Nigh co-chair. “They are all custom made by people who take their hot sauces very seriously.”

For a small donation, festival attendees can also cast their vote for the “People’s Choice Award” for their favorite culinary experience and their favorite hot sauce label.

The festival’s main beneficiaries are the Ventura County Fire Department Widows, Orphans & Assistance Fund and the Old Boney Mountain Foundation For Kids.

“All proceeds go to these organizations that help local families and kids who need our community’s support to help lift them up during difficult times,” says Jeff Losey, founder and president of Old Boney Mountain Foundation For Kids and festival co-chair.

Festival hours are 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. VIP entry begins at 5:00 p.m. and tastings end at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $60. Space is limited. Early registration is recommended.

The hot sauce festival sponsors include Ports America, Farmers Insurance®, Chanda Lubinski Real Estate, Storm-Larsen & Co. and Candu Graphics.
