Purse Thief Stole Valuable Bag At Christmas Party: Deputies

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA — Deputies are asking for the public's help identifying a man wanted on suspicion of stealing a purse from a high-end Westlake Village hotel.

The incident occurred on Dec. 15 just after 9 p.m., when a man walked into a banquet room at the Westlake Village Inn during a Christmas party. The man removed the purse from an unoccupied chair and concealed it under a jacket he was carrying, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The man left the inn in a silver Honda Civic, deputies said.

The man is wanted on suspicion of grand theft, which is defined as the theft of property over $950.
