Sign Up For Winter Camps, Classes In Agoura Hills

The Agoura Hills winter brochure highlights programming throughout the winter months, including cooking and tennis.

AGOURA HILLS, CA — With camps starting the week of Dec. 26 and classes Jan. 2, it's time to sign up for Agoura Hills' winter programming.

The city's department of community services publishes seasonal recreation guides to showcase classes and camps for residents of all ages. Winter registration is open for a huge number of programs like tennis, cooking classes, sports camps and language classes.

The brochure also highlights special events, like a tour of Hollywood Forever Cemetery for senior residents, and local volunteer opportunities.

Sports & Fitness

Many programs will help Agoura Hills residents of all ages get their bodies moving.

For younger locals, the city is offering a basketball camp for ages 6-11, ultimate sports camp for ages 6-12, soccer for ages 5-7 and even fencing for ages 7-18.

Adults over the age of 14 can sign up for Zumba and strength training, and adults over 18 years old can sign up for jazzercise and gentle yoga.

Tennis will be offered for beginners between the ages of 5-14 and adult men.

Seniors can get moving with a Zumba class specifically for ages 50 and over, a class to increase flexibility and motion for those with arthritis, a class to encourage stretching, flexing and laughing and a number of other gentle fitness classes.

Language & Special Skills

Teens, adults and seniors can pick up and practice new stills, like CPR, Spanish, guitar and art.

For more senior residents, the city will host a discussion group on current events, music appreciation class, water color, book club and more.

And don't forget bingo — bingo will run for ages 50 and over from January through March.

Cooking

Cooking instructor and author Farhana Sahibzada will teach a series of virtual Indian cooking classes, including channa masala on Jan. 13, 2023, snacks and sweets on Feb. 24 and tandoori kebabs on March 10, 2023.

Sahibzada's classes are all for people ages 18 and over, or ages 6 and over with adult supervision.
