New Steakhouse to Debut in Agoura Hills

Prime Steakhouse is opening up a second location next week at 29020 Agoura Road in Agoura Hills, the former site of the Sunset Room.

Owner Jan Schuster, who describes the restaurant as "an upscale steakhouse without the upscale attitude," said that menu will remain the same as her original Ventura locale.

"We'll have prime rib, filet mignon, rib eye, top sirloin, and we'll also offer fresh fish," she said.

The 7,000-square-foot space has two main dining areas plus a space for private parties.

"We'll have live music but it will be nice, dinner music, like Frank Sinatra, R&B, nothing loud," Schuster said.

Prices start at $17 for a la carte, but Schuster recommends the Best of Prime Dinner, which includes a four-course meal consisting of appetizer, salad, entree and a side for $35.

"And we have the best Happy Hour ever in the bar with hours from 5-8 p.m. which is pretty unusual," Schuster said.

In celebration of its new location, the steakhouse is having a private opening party Sunday and Monday, July 21 and 22, from 6:30-10 p.m. that will include champagne and appetizers on the patio, a three-course dinner and live music. Reservations are required at 818-292-5111.

Prime Steakhouse will be open seven days a week; 5-10 p.m. weekdays, 5-12 a.m. weekends.
