World's Youngest Microsoft Tech Specialist Recognized by City Council

Agoura's Pranav Kalyan, who was 9-years-old when he took the Microsoft exam, receives a certificate of recognition from the City.

 

Pranav Kalyan, the Willow Elementary student who become the youngest person on record to earn recognition as a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, was honored Wednesday night by the Agoura Hills City Council.

Mayor Denis Weber presented the now 10-year-old with a certificate of recognition in council chambers.

As he read off Pranav's impressive mathematics credentials and interests, Weber joked that he didn't even understand what he was reading.

After accepting his award, Pranav announced that he is now studying for the SAT's.

Pranav, who was 9 when he took the exam on Jan. 12, received official word of his achievement in ASP.NET Framework 3.5 on Jan. 14, according to his parents. He is now listed in Wikipedia's List of Child Prodigies under "computer science."
