YMCA Seeking Members for Model United Nations
The Triunfo YMCA is accepting kids in sixth through eighth grades.

The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park, is taking new members for its Model United Nations (MUN) program, designed for kids in sixth through eighth grades. Meetings are held weekly on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Sumac Elementary School YMCA facility (6050 Calmfield Ave., Agoura Hills).
The California YMCA Youth &Government MUN program is a simulation of the “real-life” United Nations Assembly. Delegates research, debate and establish policies, treaties and resolutions focusing on international issues including disputes between countries, peace-keeping responsibilities, border crisis, stabilizing financial markets and dealing with hunger, disease and poverty.
"Our delegates learn about the world and how challenging it can be to affect positive change," says John Napotnik, Triunfo Y program director. "It's also an opportunity to learn skills that will be useful throughout their school years and beyond and a chance to proudly represent our area at the annual conference in April."
