1 Dead, 1 Injured In East Oakland Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in East Oakland early Friday morning that left one person dead and sent another to a hospital.

OAKLAND, CA — Police are investigating a shooting in East Oakland early Friday morning that left one person dead and sent another to a hospital.

At about 3:15 a.m., officers were sent to the 1600 block of Solano Way after someone reported a shooting, according to Oakland police.

When officers arrived, they found two people who had been shot, one of whom died at the scene.

The other was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

The name of the person who died is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

No arrest has been announced in connection with the shooting and no additional details were released.
