OAKLAND, CA — Whether you need to while away an hour while awaiting a flight or need to grab something on the go, the San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) will soon have 16 new retail storefronts.

Construction is already underway on East Bay Trails, located across from Gate 29 in Terminal 2.

"We are very excited to be kicking off construction for OAK’s new retail program," said Craig Simon, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland. "The new storefronts will celebrate Oakland culture and pride and East Bay businesses while providing convenient options for travelers looking to shop at OAK."

The retail program will focus on designs, concepts, and locally curated merchandise to bring Oakland and the East Bay into the airport.

Additionally, work from local artists will be featured in several of the new storefronts. The artworks will represent the cultural diversity of Oakland and the East Bay.
