2 Dogs Die In Oakland Apartment Fire, Owners Safe
All the apartment's human occupants were able to escape unharmed, but two dogs did not make it out and were pronounced dead.
OAKLAND, CA — Two dogs died in an apartment fire in Oakland late Friday night.
Oakland firefighters responded to the fire in the 300 block of Jayne Avenue just before midnight, battalion chief Lionel Jarreau said on X.
Four engines were part of the response, he said.

The fire was contained to the single unit and controlled in about 20 minutes, Jarreau said.
