2 Killed In Oakland Shooting: Police
This marked the 56th and 57th killing in Oakland this year, police said.
OAKLAND, CA — Two men were fatally shot in Oakland Thursday morning, police said.
It's unclear what sparked the shooting. Police say they found two men in the 1100 block of 98th Street around 11:30 a.m.
Both had been shot multiple times and died at the scene, according to the Oakland Police Department. Their identities were not immediately released as the coroner works to notify their relatives of their death.

Homicides, however, continue to decline.
By the end of October last year, 71 people had been killed, according to Oaklanside. In total, 2024 saw 86 homicides. That was also a significant decline from 2023, when 126 people were killed.
