3 Rifles Seized, 5 Arrests After MLK Regional Shoreline Burglary

Investigators found more firearms, 3-D printers to make gun parts, burglary tools, and more.

ALAMEDA, CA — The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department turned a loss into a swift gain on Tuesday, when a commercial burglary was reported at Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Shoreline.

A 2024 Park District-owned riding mower had been stolen overnight. An investigation quickly led to a residence in Oakland.

A coordinated response was organized involving from EBRPD Detectives, Officers, Drone Team,and H.E.A.T. (High Enforcement Apprehension Team); Oakland PD Officers; and the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft task force.

When the Oakland home was searched, the team found:

  • 3 rifles and ammunition
  • 3D printer & 3D printed firearm parts
  • Unserialized gun parts
  • Shaved keys and burglary tools
  • Surveillance DVR and multiple phones
  • Stolen EBRPD mower

Five people were arrested without incident, and a suspect vehicle was towed for further investigation.
