Alameda Earns State 'Prohousing Designation'
Alameda is the latest California city to receive the designation, opening new doors to more state housing funds.
ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda has earned a Prohousing Designation from the state Department of Housing and Community Development, setting the city up to receive more funding for its housing efforts, the city announced Tuesday.
Alameda is the latest Bay Area municipality to earn the distinction, joining Healdsburg, Mountain View, and Petaluma, which were recognized earlier in the year.
According to the state, the Prohousing Designation provides communities exclusive access to grants and extra points for competitive housing, community development, and infrastructure funding grants awarded by HCD.
