Alameda High Women's Tennis Clinch First WACC League Championship

The Hornets rolled to victory over Castro Valley and Bishop O'Dowd at Washington Park to claim the West Alameda Athletic Conference title

Washington Park, October 30, 2024 - Alameda High School's Women's Tennis team clinched their first West Alameda Athletic Conference league title this week with wins over Castro Valley (7-0) and Bishop O'Dowd (7-0), finishing atop the standings at 7-1, and 14-4 overall.

In Wednesday October 30th's victory over O'Dowd, Alice Chen, Juliana Johnson (captain), Renata Serna and Sophie Featherstone won their singles matches in straight sets, and the doubles duos of Abby Moore (captain) & Natalie Wong, Nora Lloyd & Zoey Jalleh, and Lindsay Gilbert & Lauren Yee won in straight sets as well. For seniors Johnson, Serna, Moore, Gilbert and Yee, their league careers end on high note.

Next up are the WACC individual singles and doubles tournaments at Chabot College on November 8 and 9, followed by the North Coast Section Division 1 Team Championships. As league champions, Alameda will be hosting their opponent (to be determined) on November 12 at 2pm at Washington Park.
