Alameda PD Partners With Automakers To Help Prevent Vehicle Theft
Thanks to the partnership, free steering wheel locks are now available at the Alameda Police Department at 1555 Oak Street.

ALAMEDA, CA — The Alameda Police Department has partnered with two major automobile manufacturers to help prevent car thefts, the law enforcement agency announced today.
"As part of our work to prevent car thefts, the Alameda Police Department has partnered with Hyundai Motor America and Kia America to provide free steering wheel locks to owners of Hyundai and Kia vehicles without an engine immobilizer (key-start-only cars)," Alameda PD said in a Facebook posting.
Free steering wheel locks, which numerous studies show are an effective deterrent, are available at the Alameda Police Department at 1555 Oak Street.
