ALAMEDA, CA — The City of Alameda is gearing up for its 48th annual 4th of July Parade, set to take place on Friday, July 4. At 3.3 miles long, it’s the longest Independence Day parade in the nation and will feature 170 entries and more than 2,500 participants.

This year’s celebration promises a colorful mix of floats, marching bands, equestrian units, VIP guests, and community organizations. The parade kicks off at 10 a.m., but festivities begin earlier with the popular Alameda R.A.C.E.—a 5K fun run along the parade route starting at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds will benefit Midway Shelter for Women and Children.

Residents, nonprofits, and local businesses are encouraged to take part in the parade. Registration is free for individuals and nonprofits, and just $50 for businesses. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, June 15 at 5 p.m.
