ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — An Oakland man was charged with felony attempted murder last week and is accused of hitting a Pleasanton man with his car and breaking his tailbone in an Oakland Hills road rage incident, court records showed.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged Daniel E. Won, 19, Thursday in Alameda County Superior Court. Won was also charged with a felony count of assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury after an assault on a second person, according to the complaint.
He also faces a special allegation of causing great bodily injury in the commission of attempted murder, according to a complaint filed by the district attorney's office. Special allegations can be tacked onto a charge to enhance a potential punishment.

Joseph Lax of Pleasanton told KTVU that he believed the driver who struck him Aug. 8 while walking in the area of Aitken and Girvin drives had "murderous intent" following a verbal exchange.
Lax told the station he was nearing a blind turn when a speeding driver narrowly missed his car, confronted Lax and told him to watch where he was going, then threatened to kill Lax and his passengers.
A neighbor heard the yelling, began filming and captured the moment the driver apparently swerved out of the roadway to hit Lax, who was walking away from his car.
Witnesses captured the license plate number. Won's father, who owns the car, confirmed that his son had the car at the time of the attack, according to a probable cause statement signed by Oakland police Officer Michael Romans-Rowe.
Video showed someone "accelerating at approximately 30-40 mph and intentionally striking several victims with his vehicle," according to the statement.
