​Crews Contain 75-Acre Brush Fire In Alameda County

The fire broke out just north of Interstate Highway 580, near Altamont Pass and West Grant Line Road.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — A vegetation fire that broke out in eastern Alameda County early Sunday was contained to just 75 acres before being extinguished.

The fire broke out just north of Interstate Highway 580, near Altamont Pass and West Grant Line Road.

Cal Fire's Santa Clara Unit responded to the fire at 1 a.m. and extinguished the flames by 8 a.m.

The fire was dubbed the Green Fire by Cal Fire. There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

The cause is under investigation.
