East Bay Rotary Club Awards Grants To Local Nonprofits

An East Bay Rotary Club has awarded community grants to multiple nonprofits in appreciation of their work.

ALAMEDA, CA — Twenty-four Alameda nonprofit organizations have something to celebrate this summer, as they’re the recipients of community grants, the Rotary Club of Alameda announced Thursday.

Each year, the Rotary Club of Alameda, established in 1920, awards community grants to nonprofit organizations that have a positive impact on Alameda residents.

“We prioritize groups focused on educational programs, addressing food insecurity, promoting arts and culture, and fostering overall community development,” the Rotary Club of Alameda stated.

This year’s community grant recipients include the Alameda Food Bank, Frank Bette Center for the Arts, Friends of the Alameda Free Library, Alameda Family Services, Girls Inc. of the Island City, Alameda Civic Ballet, and Rhythmix Cultural Works.

The Rotary Club invited representatives from each of the nonprofits to one of their recent Rotary Club meetings. After a luncheon, grant recipients received their checks (the amount of which the Rotary Club did not disclose) and posed for a commemorative photo.
