Flavored Tobacco, Pot Seized From Oakland Smoke Shop: Police
Police allege smoke shop was selling prohibited tobacco flavors and marijuana products, and officers also seized magic mushrooms and khat.

OAKLAND, CA — Acting on community tips, Oakland police seized a large amount of large amount of cannabis and prohibited flavored-tobacco at a smoke shop in East Oakland earlier this month.
The department's Alcohol Beverage Action Team investigated the licensed smoke shop in the 8500 block of Bancroft Avenue after reports from the community that illegal activity was taking place there.
During an inspection on Dec. 5, "officers seized large quantities of prohibited-flavored tobacco products and a large amount of cannabis products, although the shop not being a licensed cannabis dispensary," the department said in a news release.

Police also confiscated controlled substances that included psilocybin magic mushrooms and khat.
Two loaded registered firearms were seized, because it's illegal to possess controlled substances for sale while carrying firearms.

No arrests were made and the case was forwarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's office for further action, including civil charges and potential eviction.
