Grass Fire Sparks Near Altamont Pass
The blaze burned about 11 acres of grass off Old Altamont Pass Road, about three miles west of Grant Line Road, officials said.
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — About 11 acres of grass burned Sunday afternoon off of Old Altamont Pass Road about three miles west of Grant Line Road, Alameda County Firefighters said.
The fire, just east of the Altamont summit north of Interstate Highway 580, was reported shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday, when it was at about three acres, the Alameda County Fire Department said. Firefighters from, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department and Cal Fire all helped battle the blaze.
No one was injured, and no property damage was reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
