Home Tour Offers Opportunity To Learn About Green Energy Concepts
Attendees at the East Bay Green Home Tour will learn what local residents have done with their homes to combat climate change.

ALAMEDA, CA — Looking to learn more about green energy and how you can bring those concepts into your home? Look no further than the East Bay Green Home Tour, happening Saturday.
The free event showcases the latest in green home technology and design with virtual visits to seven homes in Alameda, Berkeley, Contra Costa, and Oakland, all of which have been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
Kicking off at 10 a.m. sharp, the program begins with a brief welcome before attendees virtually visit a variety of homes ranging from a 1920s bungalow to a modern new construction, all of which represent a variety of green building strategies. Some of the features that visitors will see include solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, energy-efficient appliances, and smart home technology.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see and hear what East Bay residents have done with their homes to combat climate change, improve air quality, generate clean energy, save water, and move toward a safer, healthier, greener, and more resilient future. The tour features a variety of homes, live Q&A sessions with the homeowners, and short presentations on relevant topics like rebates and induction cooking.
